Hey Houseguest! I hope you’re settling in nicely. Big Brother isn’t messing around, huh? :mindblown: Not just the largest cast Isolated has seen yet, but also a few different twists to kick off the season! So, let’s probe your brain some. I’ve got some questions.

1. First of all – Espionage! The theme of the season! One where our avid viewers will be influencing the game more than any before. What are your thoughts on the season’s main twist? As a refresher, our viewers will be selecting one house guest each round to be our spy! The spy gets a secret mission…but there’s always a risk involved. Worth it? Or nah?

2-Tell us about the housemates in your group! Who do you love? Who do you hate? Who are you indifferent about?

3-The first HOH competition asked you to choose which players in your group you did not want to have power. Walk us through your thought process! Were you working towards a specific goal? Did you make any deals? And are you happy with the outcome?

I think it's an interesting twist. I'd certainly be open to being the spy if I manage to survive the week. In my opinion, there's not much to lose this early into the season. For example, the spies this round were able to give out immunity. That's not something that puts too much of a target on your back because it's pretty anonymous. As for what it could mean in the future, who knows. I'd rather have the power than not have it.

I literally do not like any of them and it's making me lose interest in the season. The only thing keeping me going is the hope that I'll make it through this cycle and that the other side could have people that are worth speaking to.

This is going to sound mean, but it seems like half my group is made up of English Language Learners. They take words literally and it's difficult to understand what they're trying to say. My personality is basically wine and sarcasm, which has made it hard to connect so far. Additionally, almost every single one of them has called me "girl," which is the most infuriating name for me. I find it incredibly sexist and patronizing and it's exactly why I hate playing alias games as a woman. People double down on the female stereotypes. PSA- If you don't use the word "boy" and greet people by saying "Hey boy!" then don't use the word "girl" or greet people by saying "Hey girl!"

I also just trust absolutely none of them. If I make it through this week, I won't be working with any of them going forward.

I'm honestly really annoyed by the outcome. Parker didn't ask me or give me a heads up or any indication that he was going to choose me. He claims it's random, but I've played Infection enough times to know that's a fucking lie. You pick people who aren't in your alliance. Or, you do what I did and you ask if there's anyone who doesn't want it and then you infect them with no blood on your hands.

To make matters worse, it's super clear that Parker and Susie are close, which made it extra hilarious when he asked me who I was picking for POV. My less than tactful response was "Not you."

I'm really in quite a pickle here.

I think it makes sense for people to stick with their groups at first. That's pretty much like org 101. It won't last, but that's going to be their gut instinct. If they want to stick with their group, then the other group is the enemy. That being said, we were split up for less than one cycle. I have no reason to stick to my group over the other. It makes more sense for me to very visibly say "I'm not with this group" and then flip to the other group. I don't really see it as flipping. I've done nothing to make my original group think I like them or that I'm loyal to them. I wasn't nominated by anyone in the other group so they're already at an advantage.

That was my plan if I won POV. If I hadn't won POV, I was just going to make sure the other group knew that we both wanted Susie gone, but that I'd be their better bet to make that happen. I have 100% confidence that I am better at convincing people this than Shah. Because I did win POV, I have a bit more wiggle room for d r a m a. I'm normally not one for drama, but these people strike me as the type to respect it.

I went into the Group B chat after the comp results when they were talking about how we "need to stick together" and told them I had no loyalty to them and would not be doing that. That was the first part of the plan. Then I needed to make friends with the other group and see what they wanted to do, assuring them I have no reason to work with my group and see this as more of an individual game. I did all that. The last part was convincing them to vote out Susie's pawn because it's fun to undermine the HOH when when she's pissed you off. The problem with that is Spiral is one of the few tolerable people I've met so far, even if he's everything wrong about Florida (I live in Florida). Which leaves me with a bit of a problem. I can vote out Spiral just to piss off Susie, keeping with my original plan. I can guarantee Shah will be loyal af to me if I manage to do that. Or I can vote of Shah, who's a little less useful.

I'll think about it throughout the day and see how the DMs come in.

Now that all that is out of the way, I'll go into my feminist rant.

People will often use the terms "guys" and "girls" to describe others. The problem with that is that they're not equal. Guys are mostly considered adults. Girls are children. This undervaluing of women is a systemic problem. Women all over the world have fewer rights than men, often placing them on equal footing as children. Calling women "girls" reinforces this unequal balance of power. It infantilizes women in a way that makes them inferior to their male peers. I understand that some org players are young, in which case "boys" and "girls" might be an accurate way to describe their peers. You'll often see me describe players under 18 as boys and girls. It's accurate. They're not adults. That being said, even adolescents in high school start calling the boys "guys," but don't shift their word for their female classmates. Why? Well, it's because there isn't an informal word for women the way there is for men. The word "guys" is so widespread in its usage that it's a natural stepping stone, whereas women is different. It would be the equivalent of calling them "men." That's just the way it is. It's not the easiest shift to make, but "woman" is the appropriate term for an adult, not "girl."

I'd go on a rant about "queen" but it would piss too many off.
